The World Animal Awareness Society wishes to pay back to Animal based non profits by giving the most deserving - as voted on by you - a $10,000 grant to promote their organization through our partnership with Google.

From December 17 through December 27, 2012 the World Animal Awareness Society will be accepting videos from your Animal based nonprofit Youtube Channel here to the right.

log in to your account and send us your Year End Donor Appeal Video tagged with - at the end of the video you MUST add: (say your name and the name of your org) and "You are Watching The World Animal Awareness Society" for an opportunity to win.  As soon as your video has been accepted, it will appear in the playlist below where you can share it and have your members / friends / supporters vote for it.

This contest is simple, the most views with LIKES and Comments (=VOTES), WINS the $10K.  The winner will be announced on Monday December 31, 2012 with a major press announcement.  If you do not win, this contest will still help boast your organizations overall awareness to the world through the promotional muscle of WA2S. What is an Animal Non Profit Donor Appeal Video?  Take a look at this year end video from the National Aquarium as an example.  Another example is The Inky Blue Sea Animal Rescue and this Volunteer appreciation video from Fur Baby.  None of these videos are able to win the $10,000 grant because they are not tagged with: "You Are Watching The World Animal Awareness Society" See tags below and this WA2S featured video from C.H.A.I.N.E.D. The World Animal Awareness Society - WA2S.org has grown dramatically in 3 short years through the participation of volunteers and donors of video to compliment our internal visual data collection.  The continued growth of the Society depends in part on people who volunteer their skills and donate video footage royalty free to the Society.  If you have a movie about the human / animal intersection you'd like added to our archive and featured on the World Animal Awareness Society YouTube channel and across our online media spectrum, log in to your Youtube account using Youtube Direct Lite above.

The Albert Schweitzer Fund supports the following types of projects:  humane education, humane solutions to pet overpopulation, enhancing animal shelter operations, protecting wild animals, and more. Grant maximum: $5,000

American Humane Association Grants

The Meacham Foundation Grant funds capital campaigns, building improvements, and equipment purchases that directly affect the welfare of animals in shelters. Deadline February 28th. Grant maximum: $4,000 The Second Chance Fund is set up to give animal victims of abuse or neglect a second chance at life. Financial assistance is provided, in select cases, to animal welfare organizations and rescue groups responsible for the temporary care of animals as they are prepared for adoption into permanent, loving homes. Animal Welfare Trust

Animal Welfare Trust's grant program seeks to assist organizations whose work can help alleviate animal suffering and/or raise public consciousness toward giving animals the respect they so need and deserve. Preference is given to well-defined projects with clear goals and objectives. Capital 
projects will not be considered. Areas of priority include farm animal welfare, vegetarianism and humane education. Grants will generally be made in the $2,500 to $20,000 range.

The ASPCA has a variety of grants which provide support to a variety of U.S.-based nonprofit animal welfare organizations through cash grants, sponsorships, and training. Most grants range between $500 and $10,000.

Banfield Charitable Trust

The Pedigree Foundation

The Pedigree Foundation’s Innovation grant will continue to be administered directly through them. These one-time grants are larger awards that fund creative new programs and initiatives to drive dog adoption. Deadline June 30th. Grants range from $10,000 to $25,000.

The Handsel Foundation

Animal Legal Defense Fund
Student Animal Legal Defense Fund Grants

The SALDF Project Grant grants, a program of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, are designed to assist recognized chapters in fulfilling their mission “to provide a forum for education, advocacy, and scholarship aimed at protecting the lives and advancing the interests of animals through the legal system, and raising the profile of the field of animal law.” The maximum grant amount is $500 and each SALDF chapter is eligible for $500 in grants per semester ($1000 per fiscal year). Applications may be submitted at any time and will generally be considered within two weeks from the date ALDF receives a completed application. All applications must be signed by the group chair or leader as representative of the chapter. SALDF travel grants are also available to chapters for designated events such as ALDF sponsored conferences and NCAL’s National Animal Advocacy Competitions. National Anti-Vivisection Society Sanctuary Fund

An emergency assistance program created in 1998 designed to serve animals in dire situations where immediate intervention is necessary. Through the NAVS Sanctuary Fund, we are able to provide the money necessary to finance a rescue effort without having to go through the time and expense of sending out an appeal to our members. In every case, the fund's money is used to help ensure permanent, lifetime care for all the animals involved. NAVS Sanctuary Fund has awarded over a million dollars in grants that have helped rebuild shelters destroyed in hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural disasters, rescued animals from abusive situations, conducted wildlife rehabilitation efforts, and supported innovative spay/neuter programs.
