While capturing dog data in the city of Detroit for the American Strays Project, the WA2S Films team came across many chained dogs. Some obviously in need of attention - and not being chained to a house that is not occupied. These dogs in need will receive the proper attention they require from the Detroit Dog Saviors team. While working on the American Strays Project in Detroit, the WA2S Films team came across a scared, filthy, wet stray dog. This matted poodle looking dog appeared to be in peril, not owned, and needed to be rescued. The World Animal Awareness Society and WA2S Films is not an animal rescue and must rely on the animal rescue community to help address issues with animals in crisis discovered in the city while our teams our working on filming educational initiatives. Watch what happens when our team finds this dog Sandy on the streets of Detroit and the process to get her the help she truly needed. First requirement: contact Detroit Animal Care and Control and wait for their people to show - when they don't, and the system fails, call on the independent dog rescue community in Detroit.
