Amplify Austin - It’s only one day, but it makes a great financial impact on our community. Amplify Austin is our city’s proud annual 24-hour fundraising campaign that will occur this year from 6:00 PM Thursday February 28 through 6:00 PM March 1, 2019. Last year’s event raised $10.3 million for 700 Austin non-profit organizations.
This year the WA2S all volunteer team is raising money for a special purpose – to provide program support to build DogAide, the new free crowd-sourcing dog rescue mobile app from the World Animal Awareness Society. The World Animal Awareness Society is thankful to have already secured $35,000 in matching grants from generous campaign partners like Tito's Vodka as well as an anonymous $25,000 donation from an animal lover. You can help us unlock these matching funds by going to our pledge page and making a donation today. Help us reach our goals and unlock these matching funds.

Testimonials
Tawny Hammond Former Director, Austin Animal Services Killing pets for population control is socially unacceptable and morally reprehensible and the work that the World Animal Awareness Society does is pivotal to social change. I've worked with them in Texas in multiple situations (as the Animal Services director in Austin and during Hurricane Harvey) and plan to keep working with them. They are documenting and exposing what Is happening to pets. The good and the bad. Without their presence and ground breaking work the killing and abuse will continue. Pets aren't trash and the notion that cities and counties should round them up and dispose of them is barbaric. Organizations fundraising on the claim of saving pets and then selectively killing some of the pets should be illegal. Humane communities create social capital that draws businesses and people to them. Why stop professional and civic excellence at animal services? We want the best schools, parks, fire and police departments. Why not also strive for community based municipal -non-profit partnerships designed to prevent the killing, keep pets and people safe and celebrate the human-pet bond? Thanks to WA2S's bold, brave and cutting edge work the world is changing. Kathy V Chip N Snip Volunteer Dog Rescuer As a Houstonian, I have seen the importance and impact World Animal Awareness Society has had on our extreme animal overpopulation problem. I was able to work closely with them post-Hurricane Harvey and was able to experience first hand their dedication to those without a voice. Alicia M Forgotten Dogs of the Fifth Ward Project Volunteer Dog Rescuer The World Animal Awareness Society has spent a lot of time in Houston's 5th Ward with our group Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project . It has helped bring so much awareness to the animal overpopulation crisis here in Houston and that is what we need. It has been a pleasure to work with them and have them follow us to document the dogs we feed and rescue and to help us get an accurate number of just how many homeless animals there are here. Lisa S Animal Advocate Although there are many charities aiding animals in need of rescue, the WA2S goes beyond the animal. The video's are great educational aids, world-wide. They demonstrate more than just getting strays from street to home. Their interactive-ness with community and outreach is bar-none!! Education is key in any project, and this group has a formulation that may end homelessness in companion pets, they are worth following and contributing to! As an animal related Charity with community interaction and accountability of projects, the World Animal Awareness Society is always my recommendation when others ask who to donate to. |
