It is possible this dogs owner died, and she was thrown out to the streets and became homeless, or simply abandoned when her owners moved away. Rebecca and her co-workers reported this female dog to Detroit Animal Care and Control to come and pick up. They told DACC she was very scared, possibly injured or pregnant. Detroit Animal Care and Control never showed up. Lori Briggs, a 24 year veteran of the Detroit Police Department is known department wide as THE go to person on the force when it comes to stray dogs in Detroit. Lori's passion and experience are on display almost weekly as she volunteers her time helping ease the burden currently being felt by Detroit Animal Care and Control and more specifically the citizens of Detroit who have nowhere to turn as Detroit Animal care and Control has been closed to the public. In this video however, you will see and hear about a vindictive NEW Director of Detroit and Care and Control - Melissa Miller, as Lori Briggs is reduced to tears for wanting so badly to help and do the right thing. |
