Matsi's story shows the extraordinary power you have to make a difference. Two year old Matsi was dumped in the street in Thailand when she was no longer wanted. No doubt her owner tired of her when she was no longer a cute puppy but a grown up dog with lots of energy. Matsi the Husky Pup is being re-homed by US based partner, The Devoted Barn. Matsi is available for adoption through The Devoted Barn: http://thedevotedbarn.org Subscribe and stay tuned for more videos from the WA2S Films official YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/WA2Sorg WA2S Films is: Deanna Vollano & Tom McPhee WA2S Films productions are filmed on Sony, Panasonic, and DJI camera systems c. 2018 All Rights Reserved Hiring WA2S Films Supports The World Animal Awareness Society http://www.WA2S.org/WA2S-Films 818.561.5109 Los Angeles Music courtesy Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Narration courtesy of Vocal artist Mark Rider: http://ridervo.com Watch Dog Rescuers Save Lives & Support Dog Rescue!
THE DOG SAVIORS Season 1 Episode 6 No Hope For Paws Until Woman Rescues 400 Dogs In Russia Before Fifa World Cup While protesters attempt to implore the Russian government not to fund the killing of homeless and stray dogs in 2018 Fifa World Cup Russia host cities prior to the world cup matches, the World Animal Awareness Society has been building relationships with rescuers working the problem first hand by rescuing and sheltering as many dogs as they can off the street. Elena Kalyuzhina, founder of Bertha Dog Rescue just 20 km north east of Moscow is one such person. World Animal Awareness Society & WA2S Films Executive Director Tom McPhee reached an agreement to partner with Bertha Dog Rescue through an interpreter. The agreement gives the WA2S access to help tell the story of Bertha Rescue Moscow, and the dogs under the care of Elena. Here's a little of what Elena shared with us about Bertha Rescue: "I want to introduce my dogs in the shelter. Our shelter is called Bertha Dog Rescue. We have 400 dogs there , each dog has come here with own problem: whether it was thrown away by the owner, or got under the car, or it was affected or injured or little puppies were found and needed a cure and help. We want to make them all survive. We experience a lack of people/volunteer in our shelter. We have only 2 volunteers, who come not very often but help us greatly. It's very hard to cope with such a huge crowd of dogs here by means of only 3 persons including me. We have no nutural gas, no water supply system, no electricity in the shelter. So , we are forced to bring water in big cans far away from shelter, asking people to help with the car or hire the car (we do not have our own care there too). Each day we need about 500 ltr of fresh water to feed the dogs and clean. Also we experience a lack of food, medicine, materials to build new cages. All cages are full of dogs (20 dogs per cage) at the moment. Because of each dog has his own character, some dogs don't get along with each other, that's why we need more cages to reduce the quantity of dogs per each cage. Let me introduce These two. They are Rey and Grey. They got in shelter when they were blind puppies from the forest. Now they are big ones! Can you imagine our love, do you see it!? So,if someone wants to obtain a good friend please contact us and we will choose the best one for you! Let's take an opportunity, meet and share our happiness! The Russian government has allocated funds to exterminate stray dogs roaming the host cities of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The exterminations have already begun, and the clock is ticking! World Animal Awareness Society (WA2S) is in Russia from March through July, 2018 to save as many of the dogs as possible and to create world animal awareness about the events unfolding. Working with local rescues and animal welfare professionals as well as community volunteers in; Samara, Saransk, Volgograd, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, Saint Petersburg. Kazan, Moscow, and Nizhny Novgorad, Russia the extended WA2S team will be deployed to identity and save as many stray and homeless dogs as possible prior to the fans appearing in these city's for World cup matches. The World Animal Awareness Society has been forging alliances with local-to-each-city dog rescues to better understand their needs and how the world can help them. In the coming weeks we will be sharing some of their stories as we start the process of networking the problem. We are currently in a few World Cup Russia host cities filming with WA2S Films team members now. And our efforts to network "Dog Ambassadors" from dog and animal rescues and shelters all over the world are intensifying. Our specific goals are: 1. Working with local partners, the teams will identify as many homeless / stray dogs at risk for extermination as possible, and finding positive viable solutions to keep the dogs alive. 2. Meet with local authorities to broker life deals for the dogs, 3. Gather useful scientific data - through canine survey of the extent of the stray dog crisis. Data will be used to facilitate humane - non lethal - resolutions, such as sanctuaries, shelters, through a developing foster network, etc. (The American Strays Canine Survey is a unique WA2S program developed for the American Strays 2030 Project) 4. Help facilitate new homes for as many dogs as can be networked - with world-wide rescue and sanctuary partners. There is already a growing desire by NGO's in the west to help and in doing so go around the gate-keepers setting up to stop such support from the west. If you are, or represent a dog rescue, foster, adopter, or other animal welfare professional and believe you/they would want to help provide your/their expertise and be featured in upcoming programming about helping in Russia, please contact us at: [email protected] Tick!
