Dr Peter Denooij of Canada was in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic teaching many volunteers at the October 2016 mega spay neuter, hosted by Rescatame Punta Cana and Caribbean Spay Neuter, how to use calcium chloride solution to neuter male dogs.

This fairly new procedure - an injection of Calcium Chloride in a solution takes a fraction of the time to complete, and the the cost is 80% less than conventional spay neuter surgery.

There is hope for paws in this town now that people from the resort industry are helping to educate the local citizens on the importance of a community's health as it is measured by its stray, wild, and community dogs.
