A Real Man Washes His Neighbors Mangy Dog in the 2nd Most Dangerous Hood in the US! Offering Even More Hope for Paws

Erika Emal Gamez & Sandro Gamez are South Side Street Dogs!

Meet Rick, their neighbor from down the street in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Houston they share.  Rick is a squatter and has been adopted by a mangy mama dog.
Rick found Zula (pronounced like Zsa Zsa, as in Gabor) in a ditch unable to move, with a leg injury, starving, with no fur.

Erika writes: "She couldn't even walk. He nursed her back to health with what little he had (with the help of some neighbors) and did what he could with what he had the only way he knew how. By the time we were made aware of the situation, her alopecia was not too terrible, she was walking and decent body condition. We helped with medicated shampoo, antibiotics, etc. She ended up looking fine."

As a functioning part of the South Side Street Dog mission, Erika and Sandro provide all sorts of outreach including bathing and spa services free - and even pick up the dogs to take them back to their apartment for some TLC
